Having teamed up with SuperyachtJobs.com, we co-sponsored the End Of Show Crew Party on Thursday 11th December, the event for allowing the crew to unwind after a grueling charter show
As the Antigua Charter Yacht Show came to an end, it was a great opportunity for crew to let their hair down after a busy and successful week. Over 500 crew made their way up to The Interpretation Centre above English Harbour, just in time for a fantastic sunset over the Caribbean Sea.
As the evening wore on, the fun and games commenced, thanks to a completion co-sponsored by Superyacht Jobs and West Nautical. Comprising of a hotly contested opening round of speed bowline tying and napkin folding, over 30 crew from far and wide stepped up to be timed, with the fastest 6 continuing in the competition.
The winners from the first round had to group together as many of their ship mates and friends as possible and fit them into a beautiful archway; the top two competitors of this contest then moved on to a one-on-one cracker eating finale. After a somewhat grueling experience, Captain Mike Skeet of S/Y Swan Valhalla came out victorious over Sally Friend, Second Stewardess on MY Deniki. Captain Mike won a GoPro with a bag full of accessories – a great prize which we are confident will put to good use over the coming season.
Thanks to those who attended the party and competed in the competition. We wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year!
